What's to Come....  

There is new legislation ~ CPSIA ~ that will most likely have an impact on FlutterbyBaby.  This Consumer Protection Act is in response to the toys that were exported from China to the US that were found to have high levels of lead. 

Beginning, February 10, 2009, ALL products that are made for children under the age of 12 will have to undergo independent testing... that is, each component of an item, model, and variation will have to analyzed by an independent lab.  This will be too costly for almost any WAHM, including FlutterbyBaby. 

There are petitions that are being signed and letters and phone calls going out to our legislators, asking for an amendment to CPSIA. 

I am deeply saddened to see the impact this will have on WAHM businesses, toy quality (what will happen to the top notch handmade toys that we know and love?) and most of all, the fiscal impact on my friends and their families.  Many families depend upon the income these small businesses provide.  This is just another blow, to already tough times. 

I do not know the future of FlutterbyBaby.  I am sewing up what I can before February 10, 2009.  You can find these finished items at Hyena Cart (link is below). I am happy to do customs, but will not be able to begin until after I take the exam to complete my Master's Degree on 1/17/09.
